Values in Action (our 3rd Curriculum)

Last weekend there over 150 students involved in two 24 hour events. Both events had teams of students taking part to support charities. The 24 hour race was to raise awareness against Human Trafficking, and the 24 hour Pedal Kart was supporting the Round Table and its associated charities.

What was good to witness was that not only did students participate in the races but also took an active role in the organisiation of the events. At the 24 hour Race our students could be seen everywhere, providing meals, marshalling at checkpoints, checking runners in, providing entertainment and generally being the people who set up the event. There were more students helping than running.

In the Pedal Kart students were called upon to set up our pit, carry tables and chairs to the event, clear up rubbish and again marshalling around the track.

The hardest jobs are the clearing up at the end and even thought they were tired and wanting to go home our students rallied around and got on with things. Congratulations should go to all the students both the runners, pedal karters and the support teams for their sustained efforts.
