English teaching support opportunities for Y11-13 students – CAS Service

We are seeking volunteers for 2 teaching opportunities, one of which has been advertised previously, but has been moved to March.

1. The SBSH Kids’ Learning Club, a branch of St Barnabas’ Society and Home and centre for nurturing underprivileged children, are urgently recruiting volunteers for their English Exchange Programme on Fridays.  The programme will start in March and run to May.

The dates are:
3th, 10th, 17th, 31st March
7th, 28th April
5th, 12th, 26th May
Time: 3:45 – 4:45 p.m.

The programme is for around 20 Primary 2-3 students from St Matthew’s Primary School.  The volunteers first need to think of a topic which they would like to teach the children, e.g. hobbies, food from different countries, occupation.  Then they need to plan and hold the programme for the dates above at our centre.

2. We are still seeking students to help with P6 interview practice at Tung Koon School, in Sheung Shui – this is the school with whom we have had a variety of links, including MaD Week trips, for the last few years. The sessions run on Friday afternoons on 3rd, 10th and 17th March, but students do not have to commit to all three sessions. Please see Mrs. Crouch, or Sneha Puri, the Year 12 student who is co-ordinating these visits. Thank you to those who have already offered!
