URGENT – Protests near QBS

Dear Parents,

As a result of expected strike action at Shue Yan university, QBS have made the decision to close at 13:30 today, on the advice of the police.

There is no specific need for SIS to close early today in terms of our own location. However, given that some of our families and staff also live nearby, we are making the following arrangements:

  • Bus 6 and 14C have been brought forward to depart SIS at 13:30 today. Your children will be informed of this by SIS staff. We have been informed that there will be a further 14C bus at the usual time for those living in Happy Valley.
  • If your children are not scheduled to be on those buses, but you nevertheless feel they need to go home early, then you may also make arrangements for them to leave early today.

Otherwise, school will remain open as normal today for those who are able to stay, since the majority of SIS families are not affected by this situation. Activities will run as normal for those who are safely able to stay.

We apologise for this last minute communication, owing to circumstances beyond our control.

Regards,
Tom Vignoles
