Jondi Mac revisits SIS

Isn’t it great to revisit the place where you grew up at? Our alumnus Jondi Mac from The Class of 1985 had a tour with his lovely family today at South Island School to learn about the changes to the school since then. Jondi’s favourite subject was Music when he was in school here, and no doubt he is continuing with music, who is now based in Scotland. We hope to see him and other alumni more often!

We are also hoping to re-establish a boys hockey team at SIS. There has already been some interest among some older students at the school and hopefully these boys can start training soon to be able to play some matches against local international schools very soon. Any other boys interested should contact Mr Redding in the PE department for more details.

Making Links 2018

Organised by the MaD Council, Making Links was held on the 27th of September. Showcased at the event were charities and student led initiatives ranging from organisations such as Amnesty International and World Vision to student led extracurricular activities such as SIS Sports Insight and Diwali Night. Throughout the day, students from Year 9 to Year 13 were able to talk to, get to know and make links with over 25 charities, Year 12s were able to seek out valuable CAS opportunities and a platform was provided for students to promote their own initiatives and projects. Overall, this event proved to be successful in reinforcing our school ethos of “Making A Difference”!
