Horse Shoe Crabs

On Monday 14 January the school adopted 12 Horse Shoe Crabs. This is a part of the City University/Ocean Park Conservation Foundation, Juvenile Horse Shoe Crab Rearing Project. A team of Year 12 students are taking care of the animals on a daily basis. Hopefully we will release these tiny crabs into the wild during the summer holidays.

Horseshoe crabs are an endangered species in Hong Kong and are not really crabs at all but more closely related to spiders and scorpions. The students are looking at ways of raising the profile of the CAS project within the school community.
