Today’s Lockdown Practice

Dear Parents,

At 8.45am today we did a whole school lockdown practice. This procedure is part of the school’s health and safety guidelines. It is necessary to rehearse a lockdown so that everyone knows what is required of them in an emergency. A lockdown would occur in the event of an emergency where students, staff and visitors needed to remain indoors and safe. Today’s lockdown lasted approximately five minutes and students and staff were required to sit safely and quietly in the classrooms. The students were briefed by teachers prior to the lockdown and guided through the process before it was rehearsed.

The lockdown was approached in a very low key manner so as not to concern the children. You may like to discuss the lockdown with your child at home.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss this further. Thank you for your continued support.

Best Wishes,

Annette Chapman

Acting Principal
