The Refectory at South Island School is one of the main areas that our students can socialize in. At Lunchtimes and Breaks it is a hive of activity. Students have a choice of 3 - 4 hot meals each day that are reasonably priced. The food served is of a good quality and is very popular.

In the school foyer, there is a coffee shop, Caffe Ritazza, where you can purchase a range of fresh sandwiches and hot or cold drinks.

The third outlet to purchase food is located on the podium on the fifth floor. This is where students can relax and enjoy the fresh air while surrounded by the greenery of the neighboring hills.

The Refectory and Caffe Ritazza are operated by Chartwells www.compass-hk.com/chartwells.

The Refectory is available for the use of students as follows:

• Breakfast service: 07.10 - 07.50am
• Break time: 10.00 - 10.30am
• Lunch: 12.30 - 1.10pm
• After school: 3.10 - 3.40pm

Eating Arrangements

• Students may not eat during lesson time, but may drink bottled water.
• During breaks students may eat and drink in classrooms, provided they dispose of litter and waste in the proper manner.
• Students may not eat or drink in the corridors or staircases.
• Students who buy hot food from the Refectory must consume it in there.
• The Senior School students are permitted to eat in the Diploma Centre.
