Introduction
CAS/Focus Week is the school’s activities/curriculum enrichment week. The school timetable and normal lessons are suspended for the week in order to allow students across the school to participate in a wide range of educational activities that enrich their experiences and broaden their horizons that fit with our philosophy that all students should be involved in CAS actitivities (Creativity, Action and Service).
Focus Week is usually in November. Students participate in activities that are worthwhile, new and challenging, including those that serve a community. Students’ experiences emphasise physical, personal and academic challenges that are appropriate to themselves due to the element of choice at all levels above Year 7.
Year 7 students go to the Treasure Island camp on Lantau Island. For Years 8 to 10 there are 40 different activities on offer to students. These range from overseas trips around the world to activities that are based here in Hong Kong. Year 11 spend the week completing work experience, either as a Student Leader at Year 7 Camp or within the 'real world' work place. Year 12 go on a CAS experience in mainland China or Tanzania with an emphasis on service to the community and Year 13 negotiate individual timetables to complete coursework and university applications.
