Focus Week Letter from Principal
Dear Parents and Students,
As a school we place much emphasis on enriching the curriculum and our students’ education with off-site and residential experiences both within Hong Kong and abroad.
Such activities have a clear impact on students’ attitudes and motivation, relationships within school as well as providing powerful experiential learning opportunities.
In order to reduce the disruptive impact that these trips can have on the curriculum and on lessons throughout the year, we focus these activities as much as possible into one week – our Curriculum Focus Week.
The week provides opportunities to bring the school aims and core values to life
- developing students’ confidence, self-esteem and a range of positive values and personal qualities;
- producing enthusiastic, active, independent and lifelong learners
- encouraging students’ sense of responsibility and an active involvement in the communities in which they live and work;
- providing a range of opportunities and challenges through which our students can achieve their personal best;
- providing outstanding enrichment opportunities to encourage the development of international and multicultural understanding beyond the school curriculum
The Curriculum Focus Week programme allows students to acquire and develop a range of qualities and skills by broadening their horizons, through challenges and through new experiences. On the following pages, you will find a diverse programme of activities, each of which has outlined the specific learning outcomes students will have the opportunity to achieve.
Yours sincerely,
John Wray
Principal
