CAS

CAS (Creativity, Action and Service)

All students in the school are required to make a commitment to be involved in Creative, Action and Service (CAS) based events and activities. The extent of the involvement is dependent upon the year group, developing from participatory in Year 7 to leader/initiator/learner in Year 13.

The school supports the development of CAS through:

• A comprehensive activities programme that allows students, in all years, to follow their interests.
• The school CAS/Focus Week held each year. The trips and activities are structured to meet the needs of students to fulfil their CAS requirements.
• Year 10 & 11 Enrichment Programme as an integral part of the curriculum. Students keep a journal/record of their CAS commitment which occurs in and out of school throughout the year.
• Year 12 & 13 students as part of their IB Diploma are expected to complete a minimum of 150 hours of CAS. There are strict guidelines and all of the prior experience assists them in being successful at this level of commitment.
