ISSFHK U20 Girls Football Cup Semi-Final

Match Report: SIS v KGV
First Half
SIS went into this game on the back of 2 strong performances beating Harrow 11-2 and Island School 16-0 and were full of confidence from the first whistle. SIS started brightly and took an early lead when Kate swung in a low corner that was neatly turned home by Amy. After 10 minutes it was 2-0 when Andrea picked the ball up on the half-way line and dribbled past 4 players before firing an unstoppable shot past the keeper from 20 yards, a stunner. Vanessa fired home a well taken third goal with a composed touch and finish after a lovely first-time pass from Andrea. KGV were looking dangerous down their right wing and nearly pulled a goal back but Anson superbly tipped a powerful shot onto the crossbar. KGV score. Thankfully, Vanessa scores her second goal of the game just before half time to give SIS a comfortable lead. Lily played a lovely ‘around the corner’ pass to set Vanessa away to drive a shot high into the roof of the net.
Second Half
The second half started in a similar fashion with Sophie playing a delightful through ball that set Kate through on goal, nobody was going to catch her and she finished neatly into the bottom right hand corner, 5-1.
KGV score. Rhi receives a yellow card for a thunderous tackle, followed by a heartwarming apology. SIS finish with a flourish and a beautiful chip by Lily puts the icing on the cake with a 6-2 scoreline.
