Community Service

Service to the community is one of South Island's aims and as such is a central feature of our school. All students are required to participate in CAS (Creativity Action and Service) activities throughout the school. Many students go beyond the basic requirement and are involved in service commitments within school, within their communalities and within Hong Kong and beyond. All students in Years 8-10 and 12 are required to make a service contribution as part of their Focus week activities and this occurs within Hong Kong and overseas. Many students are involved in charity work and charity fund raising. We have a number of charities that we support at individual class, year and section level and as a whole school through different events and non-uniform days during the year. The student council supports emergency appeals.
