Communications
Communication between home and school is very important if parents and teachers are going to work in partnership with parents to help their children get the very best out of the educational opportunities on offer at South Island.
One of the cornerstones of communication between home and school is the homework diary/planner. This contains all the key school events and dates and is the place where students should be recording not only their homework but many other aspects of their school achievements. It can also be used by both teachers and parents to write notes to communicate to each other. The homework diary should be monitored and signed regularly by parents and teachers.
Another important form of communication these days is via e-mail and parents and teachers are encouraged to communicate this way.
Weekly eBulletin is sent to all parents every Friday afternoon via email during school days. The eBulletin contains news and events happening in the coming weeks. It is also posted on the school web under "News and Events", click here to view.
