Chinese New Year Assembly

Congratulations to the fantastic CNY celebration performance to welcome the Year of the Dog!

Over 30 students showcased their talents through a variety of performances this year. The show kicked off with a lively lion dance to herald in the new year and bring prosperity and good luck.

There were traditional performances such as the Guzheng that depicted beautiful scenery “雪山春晓” in Northern China and the Chinese drum row “渔舟凯歌” about the life of fishermen.

The highlights of the show were the song “我的中文不好” which expressed the feeling of non-native Mandarin speakers and the co-performance of “漂向北方” by Mr Tom Lee and Thomas Ng (Yr 13) about the nostalgic feeling of people working in Mainland China.

There are other amazing performances including Chinese martial arts, Kung Hei Fat Choy ballet dance, letter live, a cello solo of a Chinese modern song and Chinese traditional dance “鸿雁“.
